Why Visit?

The Karoo is as big as Germany and harbors over 100 villages, towns, settlements and a couple of railway sidings. Despite the proliferation of modernity in this area, the human population is still as sparse as it was back in the 1900s, effectively giving the Karoo an enticing rural feel. Tankwa has gained popularity as the home of Afrikaburn.

Getting There

The Tankwa is a 4-hour drive north-east of Cape Town, with the last hour on rather rough dirt roads, as any Afrikaburn go-er will tell you. Another remote and tranquil park.
