Probably the most remote of all parks in SA. An 8-hour drive from Cape Town, 14-hours from Joburg and a 6-hour drive if you fly into Upington’s airport, the nearest to the Richtersveld.

Visitors can stay in a range of places along the Ai-Ais Richtersveld Transfrontier.
The Sendelings Drift headquarters of the reserve includes ten fully prepared self-catering units, while the Tatasberg and Gannakouriep Wilderness Camps each feature four chalets.
De Hoop Campsite, Richtersburg Campsite, Kokerboomkloof Campsite, and Tatasberg Campsite are among the park’s camping options.
